Having just visited a website, I was surprised to notice that whilst they did have a Business Blog page, their last blog was dated Feb 2015. This got me thinking – why do we create blogs?

It’s true that creating a Business Blog takes time, and I’m not just referring to the time taken to write it. You then have to think about adding pictures, making sure it’s SEO’d properly, adding it to your website, sharing it on social media etc. All these things take time, time which many of us run very short of. So, then, why do so many people create regular blogs for their business?

How to Enhance your Business Blog

As I touched upon at the start of this business blog, it’s not only about the blog text. Sure, the words have to be entertaining, interesting, informative and captivating – let’s face it, the idea of a blog is, after all, for the benefits listed above – but if they don’t succeed in delivering those benefits, you’re only doing half the job, at best!

In order for your Business Blog to succeed in its aims, it must have other components. Those components help your blog get seen and include:

  • Adding it to your website, ideally by creating a Business Blog page (Click to visit ours) – this improves your website’s search engine ranking
  • Ensuring it contains Keywords that search engines can find
  • Highlighting in bold, those points which are particularly important
  • Including links to other websites
  • Adding pictures and ensuring they contain Alt Tags

  • Inviting people to leave comments and feedback, or even subscribe to your blog
  • A Call to Action (if appropriate)

It creates free PR for your company, builds brand awareness, gives your business a personality, promotes your expertise and can often place you ahead of your competitors. Furthermore, it can be used to drive communication by inviting comments, thus creating engagement with your clients and prospects.
